The new Streamsong resort in Florida, which opened its two golf courses in early 2013, has completed its initial buildout by opening a 216 bedroom luxury lodge, on a lakeside location a short ride away from the resort’s golf facilities.

“Our mission at Streamsong is to redefine what guests, particularly golfers from all over the world, should expect from a luxury resort,” said Richard Mogensen, Streamsong's general manager. The two golf courses, designed by the Coore & Crenshaw and Renaissance Golf Design firms, have received extensive plaudits since their opening a year ago.

The remoteness of the Streamsong property, located in an isolated part of central Florida, means that on-site accommodation was essential. The resort’s clubhouse includes a small number of guest suites, but until now, most visitors have had to drive from either Orlando or Tampa, both around an hour and a half away, or find accommodation in nearby Lakeland.

Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass and with views of the property’s lakes and surroundings

Architect Alberto Alfonso designed the lodge to showcase the property’s natural environment. Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass and with views of the property’s lakes and surroundings. The lodge also includes more than 18,000 square feet of meeting space; owner Mosaic hopes to attract a significant amount of corporate business to the resort.
