The British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association’s Golf Environment Competition has been relaunched. Now entitled the Golf Course Environment Awards, the event will be administered entirely by the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI).

A dedicated Web site can be found at www.golfenvironmentawards.com. The awards are now focused purely on golf courses and maintenance facilities. The new three tier structure includes the Environmental Achievement Award – the winner of which will be taken on a study tour of the USA, including visits to Pine Valley and Shinnecock Hills, an award for the best individual project and the Conservation Greenkeeper of the Year Award.

Applications are welcome from any golf facility in England, Scotland or Wales. Forms can be downloaded from the Web site and should be returned before 19 June.
