British firm Swan Golf Designs is leading a renovation project at Boyce Hill Golf and Country Club in Essex.

The Swan team has completed a survey of the course, including a detailed audit of the bunkering, and is now working on its recommendations.

Founded in 1922 by a group of members from nearby Leigh Park Golf Club, Boyce Hill was originally designed by local professional FG Steel. The course was redesigned by James Braid in 1925 (Braid's work was implemented by Taylor and Hawtree). The course today measures over 6,000 yards and has a par score of 68.
