The Trump organisation has released details of the planned clubhouse for its Scottish links course.

Construction of the course is now nearing completion, and the first phase of road building on the Aberdeenshire site is about to start.

Designers Acanthus Architects say the single storey clubhouse, which will be built from granite, slate and glass, with floorspace of approximately 1,600 sq m, has been designed to work with the dramatic topography of the site and complement the architecture of MacLeod House, as Trump has renamed the main house on the Menie Estate.

The design will be submitted for planning approval in the near future. Trump boss Sarah Malone said: “We’ve spent many months refining and perfecting the permanent clubhouse design and will submit our planning application to Aberdeenshire Council in the coming weeks. The grand double height public spaces, with high and low level glazing, provide optimum light and sensational views.”
