Architect Peter Harradine has been commissioned to design a nine hole course in Stugna, near the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

The course will be part of a year-round residential community designed by Swiss firm IN-VI, including a a market, convenience shops and an international school.

“This will be a golf course designed to enhance the natural environment and provide pleasure for all players while enjoying the unique tranquillity and atmosphere of the beautiful valley and unobtrusive real estate,” said Harradine. “This is a new and unpretentious type of course for Eastern Europe which will definitely provide a new definition and quality benchmark to many other projects in that region.

“The real estate will be placed on the natural elevations, which will accommodate great views on to the resort golf course. The design has taken full advantage of the site by nestling the holes between natural wetlands, lakes and the meandering river that crosses the site.”
