Team from Nicklaus Design upgrades front nine at course on Hawaiian island of Kauai.

The golf course at the Hokuala resort on the Hawaiian island of Kauai has reopened following a renovation project.
The work was led by a team from Nicklaus Design, who worked alongside Heritage Links construction firm to revitalise the resort’s Ocean Course.
The project saw the renovation of the course’s front nine green, with Tif Eagle grass introduced.
Bunkering was also renovated, with new drainage, liners and white silica sand put in place.
The practice facility has also been redesigned, and two large grass tee areas featuring ten target greens are now in place.
“Both experienced players and novices will find that the Ocean Course complements each player's level, providing an enjoyable game for all,” said Fran Roach, general manager of the Ocean Course at Hokuala. “We are thrilled to introduce a new tier of golf in Hawaii to both travelers and the local community.”
