Architect Brian Silva works on project at Donald Ross design in North Carolina.

The golf course at Biltmore Forest Country Club in Asheville, North Carolina has reopened for play following renovation work.
The course was originally designed by Donald Ross and opened for play in 1922.
Original photographs of the course were used to inform the work, with architect Brian Silva worked alongside staff from the club and reintroduced some of the original bunkering using Ross’ original plans for the course.
The US$6.4 million project took eight months to complete and saw the planting of Zoysia grass on the course’s tees and fairways, the reworking of greens and bunkering, and the introduction of a new irrigation system.
