Greg Norman was in Canada last week, inspecting progress on his company’s reconstruction of the Ponderosa Golf Club in Peachland, British Columbia.

The Ponderosa course, located near to Lake Okanagan near the city of Kelowna, is part of a large scale residential estate being created by Canadian firm Treegroup Development.

Treegroup bought Ponderosa, which was originally opened in 1979, several years ago, plus hundreds of acres of additional land, and plans to build over 2,100 homes, a village and a winery on the site, as well as the redeveloped golf course.

As well as the design of the course, Norman’s firm is also handling the build. Norman associate Lee Marshall is the lead designer on the project. The course is expected to open spring 2012, a twelve month delay from the initial schedule.
