Part of New York course redesigned and redeveloped following hurricane damage.

The course at Windham Country Club in Windham, New York State, has reopened following reconstruction of six of its holes.
The club has severely damaged by Hurricane Irene in August 2011, but after Windham Mountain Resort purchased the course in March 2013, a concerted effort to restore the course to its former state has taken place.
Architect Stephen Kay, who designed the Links at Uniondale, was part of the project and used his experience to lead the reconstruction.
The six redesigned and restored holes feature freshly turfed roughs, fairways, tees and greens, as well as a new irrigation system, and comprise of two par three holes, three par four holes and a par five.
The course straddles the Batavia Kill, a local creek, and a newly constructed bridge once again connects the tee box on the fourteenth hole with the fairway.
“Windham Country Club has been a beloved part of the Windham community for 85 years. The new holes showcase the beauty of the course and offer a new challenge for both new and returning players,” said Christopher Cook, director of club operations.
