Architect working on plans for further nine holes at resort in the Philippines.

A new nine hole course has opened at the Tagaytay Highlands resort in the Philippines, designed by architect John Olenoski.
The new course, which will be named the ‘Midlands Lucky 9’, joins the existing two international championship courses at the site, bringing the total number of holes at Tagaytay Highlands to 45.
One challenge for players will be the course’s greens, some of which are surprisingly small and feature blind approaches made from both man-made and natural obstacles. These include deep ravines and bunkers, as well as numerous water hazards.
The course overlooks the Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, and the resort is to the south of the island of Luzon, the largest of the Phillipine islands.
Architect Olenoski initially worked for Arthur Hills and Associates, before joining Nicklaus Design, where he spent 13 years. In 2003 Olenoski set up his own firm and is currently working on the design of a further nine holes at Tagaytay Highlands.
