A series of renovations are to be made to the golf course at Providence Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Architect Kris Spence has been hired by the club’s owners, McConnell Golf, to serve as both the architect and construction manager for the project.

The project will focus on enhancing the course’s bunkering, converting the greens to Champion bermudagrass, and expanding the irrigation system.

Construction is set to commence in early 2018, with the course likely to reopen in early September 2018.

“This will help separate Providence from some of the other facilities in that area,” said Michael Shoun, McConnell Golf’s director of agronomy. “Kris Spence has done a great job for us in the past. He’s very conscientious and will go out of his way to get the job done right. That’s the kind of guy you want to work with.”
