A new book focusing on the golf courses of Harry Colt and his associates will be published in December.
Masters of Design is written by Henry Lord and Peter Pugh, who also produced Creating Classics, about Colt’s courses, last year. The book covers the work of Colt, his long-term partners CH Alison and John Morrison and Alister MacKenzie, briefly an associate of the firm.
The book includes coverage of stories venues such as Cypress Point and less well-known but historically important designs like Alison’s Hirono in Japan, long heralded as Asia’s first great course. Five-time Open champion Peter Thomson provides the forward.
Masters of Design is published by Icon Books, and will be available from 3 December.
