Syngenta, along with STRI ecologist Bob Taylor, is running a free workshop for greenkeepers, course managers and club secretaries at the BTME exhibition in Harrogate in a few weeks.

The workshop, under the banner of Syngenta’s Operation Pollinator initiative, will cover new techniques in ecological management, and give participants a chance to share experiences and best practice. It takes place in the Queen's Suite at BTME on Wednesday, 25 January at 3.30pm.

A new survey of over 300 golfers from clubs across the UK, commissioned by Syngenta, has revealed that the aesthetics and environment of the golf course is second only to course design in importance for attracting visiting players to a club.

Syngenta’s Dr Simon Watson said: “Improving the ecological value of your golf course for pollinating insects creates an incredible opportunity to enhance the overall playing experience.”
