Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design has been commissioned to lead a renovation project at the West Bay Club in Estero, Florida.

The club’s 18-hole course was originally designed by Pete and P.B. Dye back in 1998, and lies next to an area of wetlands and nature preserve on Florida’s west coast.

The project will see the addition of more modern design elements, and enhanced playing conditions on the course for the club’s membership.

Fry/Straka is aiming to enhance the green complexes and rebuild much of the course’s bunkering. Drainage improvements will also be carried out.

The design firm is currently developing a masterplan for the project. Work on some elements of the project will commence later this year, and will run into 2018.
