The Winter 2018 issue of the American Society of Golf Course Architects’ By Design magazine is now available in digital formats.

The lead story for this new issue centres on creative freedom. ASGCA members Tom Marzolf, Brian Curley, Jeffrey Brauer, Tripp Davis, Steve Smyers and John Fought provide examples of when and where they have been given free rein from a client as well as the constraints that typically come with a project.

The Digest section of the Winter 2018 issue of By Design begins with news of the honourees for the ASGCA’s Design Excellence Recognition Program. There’s also news of ASGCA-member projects from around the world.

Elsewhere in the issue, ASGCA members involved in education discuss how they first started and why they do it; Marc Whitney reports on the ASGCA Foundation’s recent event, From Tees to Green: A Symposium on Forward Tees and Other High-ROI Ideas; and a Q&A with golf course architect Kevin Ramsey.

Visit the By Design page of the ASGCA website to read online or download a free digital edition of the Winter 2018 issue, and to sign up for a free subscription.
