The government of Dubai will shortly announce new regulations on sustainability that will impact on property developments, including those featuring golf.

Golf in the emirate has made strides towards sustainability in recent years, especially in using more recycled water for irrigation, but, according to Majida Ali Rashid of the Dubai Land Department, more needs to be done.

Ali Rashid told a recent press conference that a group of experts specialising in sustainability would be created to manage the programme. “The pillars will be economic, social and environmental,” she said.
