A bunker renovation project is underway at Wellingborough Golf Club in Northamptonshire, UK.
A bunker audit for the entire course was completed in July 2015, with Swan Golf Designs then brought in to design, plan and oversee the renovation work.
Work was completed on the course’s opening and final holes in early December. These holes will be used as a showcase for the remainder of the project.
A three-month communication and consultation with members will now take place, in accordance with the club’s constitution.
The consultation will be followed by a further construction phase, which will see the rebuilding of around 50 hazards that form the remainder of the course’s bunker strategy.
