The New Course at Talamore Golf Resort has reopened following a renovation project.

Located in Southern Pines, North Carolina, the Rees Jones-designed course has seen its greens rebuilt and restored to their original 1991 design.

The green complexes were converted from bentgrass to Champion bermudagrass, with the original green surrounds being recaptured.

A number of bunkers were removed as part of the work. Some areas have been recontoured to blend with the surrounding shaping, while work has also been done to make landing zones forgiving.

A dozen bunkers were also rebuilt and saw grass walls introduced, each located at strategic locations on the course.

The project has been led by a team from golf course builder Shapemasters, who worked with the resort’s superintendent David Walsh and his team.
