Augusta Municipal Golf Course, commonly known as The Patch, will reopen for public play in April 2026 following a 16-month renovation by golf course architects Tom Fazio and Beau Welling.
The new design pays homage to 11 holes from the previous layout, and playing areas have been expanded by 20 per cent. The course also has new drainage and irrigation.

The Patch will be joined by a newly-designed, nine-hole short course, The Loop at The Patch, created by Tiger Woods and his design firm TGR Design. It has been designed to be walkable and played quickly, and has artificial turf tees.

A soft opening in mid-March will see limited play among local community groups, including regulars at The Patch and high school teams. There will be some private hospitality play during the week of the Masters Tournament before the full reopening on 15 April.
The Patch and The Loop have both been designed with the goal of presenting welcoming experiences for all levels of golfers, and to create opportunities to learn and develop a lifelong relationship with the game of golf. Pricing reflects this goal, with an 18-hole walking rate for local residents of $25 (or $35 on Fridays to Sundays). Locals will be able to play The Loop for $15.
The Patch now also has 17 acres of practice facilities including a 380-yard driving range with multiple teeing areas, including a Trackman Range, 20 covered bays and an artificial turf line. A 12-hole putting course is available complimentary to the general public, offering a fun way for players of all skill levels to experience the game.

The Patch Project, LLC, originally announced by Fred Ridley, chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, in April 2023, is a partnership between Augusta Technical College, The First Tee of Augusta and Masters Tournament Charities and will foster opportunities to play and work in the sport. The First Tee of Augusta will resume normal activities at The Patch, which is operated by Bobby Jones Links, in May 2026.
