A bunker renovation project is to commence this spring at The Golf Club at Lansdowne in Leesburg, Virginia.

Greg Norman Golf Course Design’s Chris Campbell is overseeing the project on the clubs Norman Course, having been involved with the original design and construction. Campbell will be working with Ron Despain of Troon, the company that manages the course.

The Golf Club at Lansdowne is home to 45 holes of golf. 27 holes were designed by Greg Norman’s firm, with a further 18 holes designed by Robert Trent Jones.

As part of the upcoming project, the Norman Course will see its bunkers regraded, reshaped and rebuilt. The Capillary Concrete drainage and liner system will also being introduced. This will help minimise contamination and reduce maintenance.

Work on the bunkering on the Norman Course’s front nine will begin this month, with work to shift to the back nine in April.

The project is set to be completed by May 2017.
