The club’s “most substantial” on-course project in recent years will involve adding new forward tees for more flexible course routing

Construction has begun on the Lobb + Partners renovation project at Williams Lake Golf & Tennis Club in British Columbia, Canada.
Williams Lake was founded in 1946 and is a registered not-for-profit society operated by a volunteer board of directors elected annually by its members.
The renovation is one of the club’s “most substantial” on-course projects in recent years and will involve adding new forward tees to create more flexible course routing and more approachable playing distances. The new forward tees are expected to be fully integrated into regular course play for the 2027 season. Landscapes Unlimited Golf & Fields is the project’s primary contractor.
“As Williams Lake Golf & Tennis Club celebrates its 80th year, it is fitting to see the club continue to invest in its future,” said Alex Hay, architect at Lobb + Partners. “Set across a truly unique piece of terrain, the course has a great deal of natural character and a strong heritage within the community. While the existing layout offers a strong test of golf, it can play long for many members and visitors. The addition of forward tees is a thoughtful and important step in making the course more accessible, enjoyable and inclusive for a wider range of players, while respecting the identity that has made the club so special for eight decades.”
