Barenbrug sows first amenity trial plots at UK research site in Worcestershire.
Specialist grass seed breeder Barenbrug has seen the first of its amenity trial plots sown at its UK research site in Cropvale, Worcestershire.
Synergy of mixtures is one of the key areas for study, and the first sowing includes 11 new mixture formulations, which the company will be comparing with its existing BAR range.
Also sown earlier this month were a variety of new and existing cultivars, which will be monitored closely by the UK team and colleagues from Barenbrug Research in Holland. Individual cultivars included Viktorka, the top-rated fescue with unrivalled shoot density, summer colour and tolerance to close mowing, which joined the Barenbrug line-up in 2008.
