British design practice Swan Golf Designs has won a major new contract in Germany. The company has been commissioned by owner Prince Johannes zu Waldburg-Wolfegg to redesign the 45-hole Waldsee Golf Resort in Bavaria.

Prince Johannes said: "The 45-hole golf complex at Waldsee has enormous potential and for a project such as this, one that is expected to span ten years, the choice of architect was an important one. In choosing Howard and his team I have absolute faith I have made the right choice."

Swan said: "By being able to re-route both the Old and New courses and incorporate a centre of excellence with the range, the academy and the short course, we will be able to enhance the beauty of the landscape while creating holes that will offer a variety of challenges to golfers of all standards."

Meanwhile Swan's renovation of the Karnataka Golf Association course in Bangalore, India, is due to be opened in November.
