PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has selected Love Golf Design to redesign the former Estates course, turning it into the members-only Triple Stick Golf Club.
The 807-acre golf destination was purchased in 2025 by private equity firm Henderson Park, in a joint venture with developer South Street Partners and luxury hotel company Salamander Collection.
The Estates course originally opened in November 1984 as Stonewall Golf Club, and has been part of PGA National since 1988. For the new Triple Stick course, Love Golf Design is following the existing routing but will make design changes to turn it from a par 72 to a 70.
Davis Love III, Mark Love and Scot Sherman have said they will be heavily influenced by Pete Dye’s architectural style for this project, and make use of the course’s abundant water features and inland South Florida landscape. There will be no major earthmoving and all existing lakes will be undisturbed to preserve the natural character of the site.
Bunkers will feature flat bottoms and be framed by native tufted grasses. Playing corridors will be enhanced with native pines and oaks to add strategic definition without sacrificing playability. Tees, fairways and rough feature Bimini bermuda and greens will be TifEagle.

The name Triple Stick comes from both Davis Love III’s personal history and Love Golf Design’s architectural influences. ‘Triple’ is a nod to Davis, who was known as Tripp in his younger years – a nickname derived from being the third – while ‘Stick’ pays homage to Pete and Alice Dye and, specifically, Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indiana, whose architecture has long influenced Love Golf Design.

The redesigned course, revamped practice facility, expanded driving range and dedicated short-game area will open later this year. A new clubhouse, designed by Peacock + Lewis, will follow.
