Mountain Sky Guest Ranch in Emigrant, Montana, has reopened its Rising Sun golf course following a renovation by Love Golf Design and Heritage Links.
The project included the removal of 10 bunkers, the addition of 30 new bunkers (covering holes one through nine, twelve, fifteen and eighteen) and the renovation of all remaining sand hazards. All bunkers feature Ecobunker edging and Sandtrapper liner.
Heritage Links began construction in March 2026 and completed work in early May. Throughout the project, Rising Sun remained open.
“Mountain Sky is committed to maintaining and improving Rising Sun Golf Course and providing a world-class experience for our guests,” said Mike Petersen, Rising Sun’s golf course superintendent. “The bunker upgrade enhances playability, consistency and drainage while adding the rugged, links-style look that fits our landscape.”
Work on the course has also covered cart paths, with Truegrid permeable pavers (a recycled, polyethylene plastic honeycomb-style product) chosen.
