A new golf course designed by Greg Norman Golf Course Design has opened for play at the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

The course becomes the second to open at the resort on Mexico’s western coast, and will complement the existing Nicklaus Design Golf Course and Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf at Nuevo Vallarta.

The new course features wall-to-wall Paspalum playing surfaces, while indigenous trees, native grasses and jungle surround the core course layout.

The course plays along the Ameca River and features views of the nearby Sierra Madre mountains.

Describing the new track, Greg Norman said: “When designing this course, respecting and promoting the conservation of ecologically sensitive areas was of primary concern. As a result, routing was dictated by nature, according to dense vegetation corridors, streams and wetlands."

Norman added: "Ultimately both high and low handicappers will really enjoy playing, as it offers the perfect trifecta of beauty, fun and challenge.”
