A new golf course designed by Gordon Lewis has opened at Heritage Landing Golf & Country Club in Punta Gorda, Florida.

The course is part of a residential country club community developed by homebuilder Lennar.

“We’re thrilled to officially announce the opening of the golf course amenity at Heritage Landing,” said Lennar Southwest Florida director of operations David Meyers. “The golf course and planned country club will serve as the heartbeat of this community, where residents can relax, enjoy time with their neighbours and truly maximise the benefits of being part of a country club lifestyle.”

The layout is located on the site of the former Tern Bay Golf and Country Club, which closed in 2008 — just a year after opening — as the developer went bust during the recession.

It features five sets of tees and has been grassed with paspalum. The club’s practice facilities include a chipping area, putting green and a driving range.

The clubhouse is scheduled for completion in 2022.
