The Robert Trent Jones II-designed Patriot course in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, should open in August/September of this year.

The course is the second job as project architect for Jay Blasi, who, along with RTJ2 president Bruce Charlton, led the creation of the acclaimed Chambers Bay course in Tacoma, Washington. Chambers Bay, of course, has been nominated to hold the US Amateur in 2010 and the US Open in 2015.

The Patriot is being developed by Major Dan Rooney, a PGA professional and F-16 fighter pilot who has completed three tours of duty in Iraq. Rooney is also the creator of the Folds of Honor Foundation and Patriot Golf Day, a charity that raises money through golf for families who have dealt with injury or death from the Iraq war. The headquarters of The Folds of Honor Foundation will be affiliated with the golf clubhouse compound and some proceeds from the club will go to the foundation each year. The course is being constructed by contractor Landscapes Unlimited.
