The Black Course at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida, is to undergo a series of renovations.

The course has now closed as a team from Greg Norman Golf Course Design team work with the club’s director of agronomy Jeff Cathey to lead the project.

Work will focus on the course’s greens, turf, irrigation and bunkering.

Green surrounds and approaches will be reworked, helping to create more strategic shot options. These parts of the course will be regrassed with Celebration bermudagrass.

New family tees will also be introduced to the course. This will open up the option of playing the course at approximately 4,000 yards.

The Black Course, which was originally designed by Norman’s firm and opened in to 2001, is expected to reopen in November 2017.
