Tiger Woods Design has been appointed to lead a major project in the US city of Chicago.

The project is aiming to restore the existing Jackson Park and South Shore courses, and create an upgraded golf facility within the confines of the two golf courses.

The news comes following the creation of the Chicago Parks Golf Alliance (CPGA) – a not-for-profit organisation that will raise the funds to restore the two courses. CPGA will work closely with Chicago’s City and Park District throughout the project.

Work is set to begin in 2017, with a proposed completion date in 2020.

“It’s an honour for me and TGR Design to be designing this golf course in one of America’s greatest golf cities,” said Woods. “This project can create incredible possibilities for the community on the South Side. We want to design a course that everyone will enjoy.”
