TGR Design, the design firm of Tiger Woods, will create the golf course for a new private club at the Diamante Cabo San Lucas resort community in Mexico.
The 18-hole layout will be the third project by TGR Design at Diamante, having completed El Cardonal (main picture) in 2014 and the 12-hole par-three Oasis course in 2016. Diamante Dunes by Davis Love III’s design firm opened in 2009.
The initial design for the new Legacy Golf Club is a par-71 of 7,332 yards, alongside a driving range and short game area.
Diamante describes the landscape as “a secluded, lush environment that is exceptionally rare in a coastal desert region”. The course, to be built be Cook & Solis Construction, weaves around five lakes connected by a network of streams that incorporate cascades and waterfalls.

The course will feature deep, white-sand bunkers and the property will be encircled by a landscaped man-made dune that will “enclose the course in privacy and seclusion”.
“Legacy Course combines tournament-calibre strategy with an unforgettable visual experience,” said Woods. “From drivable par fours and long par fives to deep bunkers, movement in the greens and dramatic water features including creeks, waterfalls and lakes, every element was designed to create a world-class golf experience that is both challenging and enjoyable. It will look and play unlike anything else at Diamante.”
Ken Jowdy, CEO and founder of Diamante Cabo San Lucas, said: “By bringing together an exclusive Tiger Woods–designed course and a truly limited membership, we are creating the most intimate, personalised golf experience at the highest level in Cabo.”
Membership of Legacy Golf Club will be limited to just 250 families, to “balance uncompromising access with absolute privacy”. Initiation fees have been set at $300,000 and annual dues estimated at $60,000, which includes access to Diamante Golf Club.
