Ballyhack to open in June

The striking new Ballyhack course, located outside the city of Roanoke, in the south-west of Virginia, USA, is almost ready for opening.

As our new photos show, the course’s grow-in phase is close to completion, and members are expected to have access to their new club from late June onwards.

Architect Lester George, whose track record includes the highly-rated Kinloch club near Richmond in the same state, and the other partners in the development, including Landscapes Unlimited boss Bill Kubly – whose firm is building Ballyhack – and legendary amateur golfer Vinny Giles, have been talking the course up throughout the construction phase.

Seen as the eastern US answer to the remote destination clubs, such as Sand Hills, Sutton Bay and Dismal River, that have been popping up across the western states in the last dozen years, Ballyhack plans a small, largely non-resident membership with cabins to accommodate players on their visits to the course.
