Budersand shaping almost complete

Architect Rolf-Stephan Hansen has completed shaping 17 holes of the Budersand project on the German island of Sylt. The course, destined to become Germany's first true links, is scheduled to open in spring 2008. Fairways have been topsoiled, and the finished rough and dune areas have already been seeded and bunkers are being constructed. "During the winter the schedule is to build the par three fourth and to finish the irrigation works and the revetting of the pot bunkers. In spring next year the topsoil for the greens and tees will be mixed to the specifications and shaped into the prepared areas. So seeding and planting is expected for April 2007 and the opening for April/May 2008," said Hansen.
