Cheshire course to get facelift
High Legh Park Golf Club in Knutsford in the north-west of England is to get a major revamp.
The course, which was originally designed by Scottish architect Steve Marnoch, is set to introduce two completely new holes, as well as bringing two other holes back into place after five years.
Director of golf Gavin Beddow, who has designed the new holes, told GCA: “The motivation was to make the site self sustaining. This involves the introduction of a fantastic academy (which will be home to some of the top coaches in the UK. The site will also include a mini nine hole course with holes around 50 yards long and a nine hole short course. The short course will be around 2,000 yards long with USGA spec greens. The site will then be set up for golfers to learn the game in the range and develop on the smaller facilities until they are ready to become full members.”
The new-look course is set to open in September.
