Clayton, DeVries & Pont appointed to oversee renovations at Golf de Chantilly
Clayton, DeVries & Pont (CDP) has been appointed by Golf de Chantilly, 45 kilometres (28 miles) north of Paris, France, and will begin a three-hole renovation of the club’s Vineuil course in 2026.
Chantilly was founded in 1909 and is home to two 18-hole courses, the Vineuil and the Longères. The Vineuil, which has hosted various national and international competitions, including the French Open on 11 occasions, was extended from nine to 18 holes by Tom Simpson in 1920. He also designed Longères in 1929, but it was badly damaged during World War II and was then left abandoned until its comprehensive redesign by Donald Steel in 1991.
“My colleagues and I are honoured to have been appointed to advise Golf de Chantilly, said Frank Pont, partner at CDP. “Early next year, we shall be undertaking bunker renovations on three of the Vineuil’s holes. We shall then be liaising with the club as we devise long-term plans for its overall improvement.”

Mike Clayton of CDP added: “The Vineuil was the first course I ever played in Europe when I participated in the 1980 French Amateur. I returned to play in the last three of the French Opens it has hosted and have been back a few times since. I love its charm and the challenge it presents.”
