Development of new course at Gut Wissmannshof reaches final stages

The final stages of a project which has seen the development of a new 18-hole course at Gut Wissmannshof Golf Resort near Kassel, Germany, have been reached.

Designed by architect Holger Rengstorf of Rengstorf Golf Design, the new course will bring the total number of holes at Gut Wissmannshof to 36.

Rengstorf told GCA that the new course features wide fairways and five sets of tees on each hole.

The new course has been constructed by Pötter Golf.

Also under construction at the resort is a nine hole academy course and new practice facilities. These include a three storey driving range, a 2,000 square metre putting and chipping green, and a separate short game area of around 20,000 square metres.

“The finished course has been designed to give the majority of golfers a relaxed playing atmosphere, with wide fairway and five sets of tees to offer a fair but challenging excess the all greens,” Rengstorf told GCA. “The green complexes are designed to withstand and test all playing capabilities, with challenging contours, receptive sizes and scenic views for memorable golf moments.”
