Enhancements made to courses at Aroeira golf resort

A series of enhancements are being made to both courses at the Aroeira golf resort near Lisbon, Portugal.

Aroeira is home to two 18-hole courses. Aroeria I was designed by architect Frank Pennink and opened in 1973. This course hosted the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997.

A second course, Aroeira II, opened in 2000 and was designed by Donald Steel.

As part of the ongoing work, tees and cart paths on both courses have been rebuilt.

Work has also been carried out to remove bad grasses from the fairways and hollow coring has taken place.
