First look at the new Royal Norwich Golf Club at Weston Longville

Construction work has begun on the brand new Royal Norwich Golf Club in the UK, which is being relocated to nearby Weston Park as part of a £10m project.

The move follows the sale of the club’s Hellesdon base – its home for nearly 125 years – to building developer Persimmon, which will turn the site into housing.

These are the some of the first pictures of the work which is now underway on the ground of the former Weston Park club as it is transformed into a new 27-hole complex, which the owners hope will one day be able to attract national tournaments and ultimately European events to Norfolk.

European Golf Design’s Ross McMurray is heading up the development, which includes an 18-hole championship course and shorter academy course, as well as a new clubhouse and revamped practice area.
