First phase of Rinkven International GC project reaches completion

The first phase of a major project at the Rinkven International Golf Club near Antwerp, Belgium, has reached completion.

Led by Russell Talley of Hawtree, the recent has work has seen the complete redesign of six holes and major alterations to two holes at the 36-hole complex, which was originally designed by Paul Rolin.

Rinkven International was previously home to two 18-hole courses named the Championship Course and the Old Course. As part of a masterplan created in 2014, these have now been spilt and two new routings established.

The two ‘new’ courses have been renamed the North Course and South Course, and are separated longitudinally to avoid any confusion for visitors.

The six redesigned holes bring a greater variety of length to both the North and South courses, and the 18th greens on both are now located in front of the clubhouse, which is also being renovated as part of the club’s masterplan.

Work commenced in July 2015 on the project’s first phase, and was completed this summer – a month ahead of schedule.

The next phase will see a number of renovations made to holes on both the North and South courses at Rinkven International.
