Fort Lauderdale CC reopens North course following renovation

The North course at Fort Lauderdale Country Club in Florida has reopened following a renovation by Kipp Schulties.

The project has included the replacement of greens, new tees that give the course a total distance range of 4,800 to 7,100 yards, the expansion of lakes and the introduction of native waste areas.

“More than 70 per cent of the golf course was re-shaped, changed or redesigned,” said Schulties. “We even moved one hole to the other side of the course, then changed four or five others that moved into the location where the hole was moved from.”

“With so many new elements of the course designed by our golf architect, Kipp Schulties, it truly lives up to the description of being distinctly different’,” said Michael O’Brien, general manager at the club. “Waste and native areas have been reconfigured on a much larger scale that will present a different look and feel to the course.”

“Reinvestment into a club’s infrastructure is vital to the success of not only that club, but of the golf industry as a whole,” said O’Brien. “This new course design will add another dimension to the extensive list of advantages that sets Fort Lauderdale Country Club apart from the competition.”

The project began in April 2019 and the course reopened for play on 29 November.
