Greg Norman visits Vietnamese site

Greg Norman has paid a visit to his design at Ho Tram in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in Vietnam.

Linksshape and IMG are working alongside Greg Norman Design to bring the course to life, with the moulding and shaping of terrain well underway. Norman visited the site on the Vietnamese southern coastline to observe the development and make necessary design adjustments.

The course, which will be named ‘The Bluffs, Ho Tram’, was described by Norman following his latest visit as: “One of only two pieces of land of this quality and character that I have ever been given to work with – the other being Doonbeg in the south of Ireland”.

Among the plans for thesite is a par-71 18 hole golf course, which will be designed in the style of alinks, a driving range with 16 bays, practice area with chipping area, putting green and sand trap, and multi-story clubhouse with restaurant and outdoor terrace with views of the coast and the Ho Tram Strip.

“Greg Norman’s visit to Ho Tram is an important milestone for us as our plans for the golf course become reality,” said Bob Wolfe, chairman of Asian Coast Development, the company developing the Ho Tram Strip. “His design is truly outstanding and when our course opens I believe it will quickly gain a reputation as a world-class destination for golfers.”

Following the visit, Greg Norman said: “I’m looking forward to seeing this magnificent course take shape over the coming months, and I am very much looking forward to revisiting Vietnam when the time comes for my next design visit.”
