Infinite Variety renovates short game facility at De Dommel

Infinite Variety Golf Holland has started renovation work on the short game facility at Golfclub De Dommel in Sint-Michielgestel, Netherlands.

The project is being overseen by architect Jurrian van der Vaart, with contractor SBA Golf en Groen handling construction and seeding, and Smits BV installing a new irrigation system.

“The club’s academy runs extremely popular practice programmes with more than 350 members participating,” said van der Vaart. “The driving range, putting green and short game area are heavily used and the strain on the playing surfaces had become noticeable, so we decided to improve both the putting green and the pitching area.

“The rebuild has allowed us to improve the rootzone of both the green and the surrounds, delivering on the club’s desire to have closely mown turf around the practice greens. Some trees have been removed to improve sunlight and airflow, allowing us to turn a majestic 50-foot oak in the middle of the site into a prominent feature.”

Infinite Variety expects the project to be completed in mid-December.
