Ken Moodie progresses £1 million project at Pleasington

Ken Moodie of Creative Golf Design is renovating the course at Pleasington Golf Club near Blackburn, England, a 12-time host of Open qualifying.

The five-year £1 million transformation project includes new and renovated bunkers, to make the course visually stronger, and firmer, faster greens with enhanced drainage and disease resilience. Additional changes are designed to make the course fairer for high handicap players and more challenging for elite golfers.

“This has been an important and exciting journey for the club,” said general manager Mark Bleasdale. “While the course has always been recognised as an outstanding layout, hosting Open qualifying and prestigious amateur events including the Pleasington Putter for elite amateur women, we wanted to restore its natural character and return it to its very best.

“Now, after major works over the past three winters, including the regeneration of heathland, the course has been transformed.”
