Lassi Pekka Tilander adding nine new holes at Kankaisten Golf

Golf course architect Lassi Pekka Tilander is leading a project which will see the addition of nine new holes at Kankaisten Golf in Massu, Finland.

The new holes are being built on an open site which was previously used for agricultural purposes.

Tilander has included a number of big, multiform bunkers and multi-levelled greens as part of his design.

Construction work at Kankaisten commenced in the winter of 2015, following rough shaping work the previous summer by American architect John Ponko.

The new holes will complement the existing 18-hole course at Kankaisten Golf, which was originally designed by Finnish golf course architect Pekka Sivula.

The nine new holes are scheduled to open in the summer of 2017.
