New Coore & Crenshaw course growing in at Rodeo Dunes
A Coore & Crenshaw design is growing in at Rodeo Dunes, a new golf destination in Weld County, Colorado. Slated to open in 2027, it will be the first of as many as six courses planned by developer Dream Golf.
The 4,000-acre property is less than an hour’s drive from Denver and is part of a ranch owned by the Cervi family, which runs one of North America’s premier stock-contracting ranching operations and owns the Cervi Championship Rodeo Company. The family leased the property to Dream Golf, with Michael Keiser Jr taking a lead on the development. The golf is being built on sandy land, vast plains and grasslands, dramatic dunes, prairie and native brush. The site also has 125-mile views of Colorado’s Front Range in the Rocky Mountains.

“The land is some of the most gifted we’ve ever come across,” said Bill Coore. “It is truly a very special site, really quite remarkable. Michael Keiser found a great site at Sand Valley, and now he has done it again.”

Earlier this month, Dream Golf hosted a sneak peak of the first course with 12 holes already grown in. The layout will open for founder preview play in 2026, with public tee times set for 2027. A multi-acre putting green will also open in 2027.

Jim Craig, former Coore & Crenshaw associate and designer of The Commons at Sand Valley, has been appointed to design the second course at Rodeo Dunes. Construction of that layout is expected to begin in 2027, with the first two courses expected to share a first tee complex. The site for the third course has been determined, but no architect has been selected yet.
“There’s a lot of similarities between what I’ve witnessed at places like North Berwick in Scotland and Rodeo Dunes,” said Craig. “And those features are what make the property – and the course – so compelling.”
