New course opens for play at Assoufid Golf Club in Morocco

The course at Assoufid Golf Club near Marrakech, Morocco, has officially opened for play.

The 7,042-yard, desert-style course is the debut design of Scottish PGA professional and former European Tour player Niall Cameron.

Located near the Atlas Mountains, the course has been designed to integrate with the existing landscape and to encourage existing wildlife and flora to flourish.

Membership applications are now being accepted and Guy Maxwell, golf director at Assoufid Golf Club, has enjoyed the positive feedback he and his team has received so far.

“Our objective is to provide the finest golfing experience by delivering a beautifully maintained golf course and exceptional levels of service whilst protecting the integrity of the indigenous natural landscape,” said Maxwell. “We are confident Assoufid Golf Club will quickly establish itself as one of Morocco’s finest courses, and become a must-visit stop off for the discerning golf traveller.”

Assoufid Golf Club becomes the latest development to open for play in the fast-growing Moroccan market. The club forms part of a development that also includes a five-star hotel and luxury residences.

The club is located 20 minutes from central Marrakech, and ten minutes from the nearby international airport.
