New owners for Orlando course
Development firm Kitson & Partners has sold the Timacuan golf club in Orlando to a group of investors, going by the name of Timacuan Partners.
“Timacuan is a premier facility in every respect,” said a spokesperson for new owners. “Our plan is to improve upon what is already an outstanding experience for all those who use the facility.”
Timacuan was designed in 1987 by Ron Garl and refurbished by Bobby Weed in 1996, and has been ranked among the top 20 courses in Florida. The course has held professional events including Champions Tour qualifying, Hooters Tour tournaments, and US Open local qualifying.
“Timacuan is a semi-private golf club, but we will attempt to provide a private-club type experience,” said the new owners. “Our plans are to increase the value of the membership, and also to make sure our visiting golfers feel as though Timacuan is their home away from home. We plan to provide a golf experience that is as unique as the course design.”
