New short game facility opens for play at Las Colinas

A new short game facility designed by Miguel Ángel Jiménez has opened for play at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club near Torrevieja, Spain.

Featuring large bermudagrass playing areas and a 680 square metre green, the new facility will provide visitors to Las Colinas with a space to practice and hone their skills.

Two large bunkers are included in the design, and golfers will be able to practice a range of skills over a distance of 75 yards.

Jiménez worked closely with the Las Colinas management team during the facility’s development, including the resort’s director of golf and operations, Sean Corte-Real.

“I’m incredibly proud to open the Las Colinas Short Game Facility and have been extremely impressed with the pristine conditioning of the whole area,” said Jiménez. “It’s been really exciting watching how the project has developed since we started work earlier this year and I now look forward to seeing golfers from all around the world enjoying a world-class facility.

As well as the new facility, Las Colinas is home to an 18-hole course originally designed by Cabell Robinson.
