Pacific Coast Design lays out masterplan for Eagleburg Golf Resort course

Construction is underway at the Eagleburg Golf Resort in Mysore, India, with Pacific Coast Design leading the design of the project.

The brainchild of the late Ashok Kumar, the pioneer behind the Eagleton Golf Village in Bangalore, construction of the Eagleburg Golf Resort is being led by Kumar’s sons, Kiran and Chetan.

Once completed, Eagleburg will be an 18-hole, par 72 course that will play 7,166 yards and will feature a variety of tee boxes and routes. Pacific Coast Design described the course as having ‘strategic choices, a variety of play angles and a variety of shot options’. Work will be done to develop golf in local communities, where the sport continues to grow in popularity.

The Eagleburg site includes both residential and resort properties, and areas have been built to create the treated effluent required for the course’s long-term irrigation. An acquifer recharge system is being put in place in order to capitalise on the heavy rain of the Indian monsoon season, as ground water will be required until the site’s residential volumes reach sufficient levels.

Construction work began at Eagleburg in late 2013 and is being monitored by Global Golf India. Shapers from Pacific Coast Design will commence work on the course in March 2014 and the course is expected to be completed by mid 2015.
