Pearl at Kalauao opens new short course designed by Golfplan

Pearl at Kalauao in O’ahu, Hawaii, has opened Nā Momi ʻEkolu (The Three Pearls), a new three-hole pitch-and-putt course designed by Golfplan.

With holes ranging from 40 to 60 yards, Golfplan’s David Dale and Kevin Ramsey have created a course ideal for beginners, juniors and those looking to train their short game.

The short course has been laid on a 1.2-acre parcel and Ed Kageyama, general manager of Pearl at Kalauao, says each hole has been named to reflect the spirit of the playing experience – Ke Kupu, (The Upstart), Ka ʻEu (The Rascal) and Ke Kolohe (The Mischief-Maker).

“This new way to experience Pearl at Kalauao will resonate well with kamaʻāina and visitors alike,” said Kageyama. “Nā Momi ʻEkolu offers a fun and less intimidating way for everyone to enjoy the game – whether they’re new to golf or fine-tuning their short game.”

Golfplan has also renovated the club’s 18-hole course (GCA will feature insight from Golfplan on this project soon) and the practice facilities. These projects have been completed in conjunction with the Troon-operated club revamping its clubhouse.
